Privacy
Plain version: we use what you read to build your brief. We never sell data about you as an individual. Anything beyond that is your choice, and off by default.
Version 2026-11-01
What we collect
Your email address; your answers to the test and the topics you pick; which stories you rate, open or follow; the sources you mute, boost or add; your quiz answers; your plan status. If you pay, Stripe handles your card and we keep only a customer ID and plan status. The places you follow for local news (and the zip code you typed, if you used one) and, if you turn on the daily text, your phone number.
We also keep a log of activity on the service (for example, that you opened a brief or tapped a thumb) with the time and the story involved. We do not use tracking pixels in email. Links in our emails are wrapped so a click on a story counts as interest.
What we do with it
First, to run the service: choose your stories, send your brief, write your summaries and quiz, and improve your own recommendations. Second, to understand how the product is used and to keep it working. Third, to tell outlets how much reading we send them, as counts per outlet and never per person.
Your two optional choices
At sign-up and any time on your Account page you can turn on either of these. Both start off, and each is recorded separately with the date and the wording you saw.
Sponsor matching by segment. If you opt in, we may show you sponsor messages chosen for a broad reader segment, such as “follows business news.” The sponsor is told how many readers matched a segment, never who they are. Sponsors do not receive your name, email, or reading history.
Anonymous aggregated reports. If you opt in, your activity may be counted in anonymous reports about what groups of readers read. We do not publish or share any number that covers fewer than 50 readers.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a choice to keep both of these off.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your email, name, or reading history. We do not hand individual-level data to advertisers, brokers or sponsors. We do not read paywalled articles on your behalf or collect your logins to other sites.
How long we keep it
Detailed activity logs are deleted after 90 days. Before that, we keep only daily totals that are not linked to you, such as how many clicks an outlet received. Your profile, ratings and quiz history stay until you delete your account.
Who processes it
We use a hosting provider, a database provider, an email delivery provider, a text-message provider if you opt in to texts, Stripe for payments, and Anthropic to help write summaries, talking points and quizzes. What we send to Anthropic is story text from public feeds. It does not include your name or email.
Your rights
You can download everything we hold about you and delete your account from the Account page. Deleting removes your profile, ratings, quiz history, activity log and consent records. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including to correct your data or to object to certain uses; ask and we will honor them. Contact us at hello@getadlo.com.
Children
The Mosaic is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will email you and ask again before using your data in any new way.
